This Trust has been established to provide assistance to those who suffer financial hardship as a result of the tragedy at Pike River Mine, Greymouth, New Zealand on November 19, 2010.
The Pike River Disaster Relief Trust (also referred to as Pike RIver Miners' Relief Fund Trust) is a community based charitable trust, administered by representatives from across the West Coast community. Initiated by the Grey District Council, the intention of the trust is for local community representatives to make decisions on the appropriate distribution of any donated funds to the West Coast community. Beyond the participation of the Mayor of Greymouth as one trustee, the Council is acting in a purely administrative role. Please review our FAQs and About the Trust pages on the site for further details and answers to any questions you may have. We encourage you to leave a tribute message if you are able.
